Pointess Purchase
Every one has a pointless purchase sometime in their life. That one item you just had to have, then used once and realized the error on judgement you had. Well that happened to me. I saw a Lacrosse set and thought to myself, wow that's awesome me and my brothers will use that all the time. We got it the first day used for a little bit, realized it was way to much running and to difficult. So that was really the only time we ever used those. What a waist of money.

Texas Shake Down
Police in Texas are allegedly pulling people over and holding them on charges that are ridiculous. They tell the victim they will release them if they forfeit the cash and possessions on them. This is terrible and something needs to be done about this. What these local officers are doing is a form of piracy, and they need to be stopped.

Final Season
This is my last year at Seymour High School, and I feel like I'm going through my final season of a TV series that I've been starring in for 12 years. Its pretty sad when I really think about it. I'm going to miss this place. Not the work or the annoying teachers, but seeing my friends daily, my first through fourth teachers, not being around for my sisters in school, the bench, and I'm so gonna miss baseball. With only 5 days to go its all flying by so fast, but there is nothing I can do but enjoy every moment of it.

Swine Flu
The Quincy YMCA is making steps to prevent the spread of bacteria. Many People are wiping down the equipment before and after use, or using lifting gloves. One member stated that she now more regularly sanitizes her hands throughout her workout. The Facility has set up areas of disinfectant stations for its members. So the Y is taking good steps toward cleanliness and the stopping of bacteria.

Japanese Diet
The diet in Japan used to be full of protein and very low in fat, but due to the major change in the economy, that is changing. Today more and more People in Japan are turning to the cheapier easier form of food. A majority of them turning to America's home town favorite, McDonalds. McDonalds posted huge profit in Japan this quarter and shows no signs of slowing. Many japanese doctors think this is not a good thing. the diet change that manhy of these people are taking is having major effects on the country. I think this could be a bad turn for Japan. Thier gonna end up obese like most Americans.

Sexting
There is now a new software for parents to help prevent and protect their children from being a victim of a sexual predator. The system is linked to the phone and allows certain numbers access to the number without sending out any warning flags. If the kid uses a number not on the list it sends a text to the parent alerting them of it. This is a 10 monthly fee, but well worth it. This helps protect your children, and can give you peace of mind.

Phishing
Phishing is a form of identity theft. This is the new way for robbers to pick money out of your pockets without actually meeting you or bumping into you on the subway. Phishers try and get people to give away personal information through bogus emails. This is the newest trend in pick pocket industry, so watch out. You can never be to careful with personal information.

Twitter Danger
Scientist have reason to believe that social networks such as Twitter or Facebook are to fast for the brain's 'moral Compass' to process. They believe young minds can't handle the info and stories they receive on these social networks. This is ridiculous in my opinion. But I can't really argue this point because I haven't been able to do the research that these scientists have done.

Dumb Criminal
This is about the dumbest criminal I've ever heard about. A 19 year old man robbed another man. What the criminal failed to realize was that he was in the middle of police convention. Needless to say the man didn't get very far before he was stopped and arrested. He is being held on the previously comitted robbery charges. When asked for a comment, all he had to say was, "I'm Smooth".

I Twitter the next big thing on the web. This online instant update service has become a huge hit, but where is it going? Google and Facebook are now targeting Twitter ready to make offers because they see Twitter as a profit. I believe Twitter will be bigger than anyone could imagine, because people are always looking for the next big thing. So they'll come and try it out and get sucked in, just like the Facebook junkies. Only time will tell.

Facebook as College Guidance Counselor
Facebooks newest role in the online world is that of college guidance counselor. Colleges across the United States are creating groups fro new and incoming students can come and chat with current students and incoming students. This gives the individual the ability to get a feel for what each college is like. I think this is a great way to get involved with the college you plan on attending and can really influence your decision on waht you will do after high school.

Chewing Gum
Each year the cost to remove chewing gum from public places costs hundreds of millions of dollars. The answer for this has been found. A biodegradable gum has been made and manufactured. This gum is made from the sap of the chicozapote tree found in the Mexican rain forest. Once this gum becomes dry after being chewed, it turns to dust in 6 weeks. This is a much better solution than spending that much to clean up the mess left under park benches and streets.

Protestors and Technology
http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/03/31/g20.activists/index.html
Protesters are using technology to their advantage by quickly organizing and setting up mass protests across the world through facebook and other social networks. I feel that this is great. When the people can unite and stand for what they believe, all over the world. Our greatest freedoms are now protected and easier to demonstrate now that we have the ability to organize and show the world what the truth is.

Facebook and Myspace
Why don't they make money? Thats a good question that I have no desire to learn the answer to. I love being on both of them. So whether or not they're making money or not doesn't matter to me.

Cigarette Tax
Cartons of cigarettes are now taxed at a rate of 10.10 a cart and 1.01 a pack. Smokers feel they are being targeted and feel offended. I feel this tax is a great thing. smoking is a nasty disgusting habit, that not only hurts the smoker, but also hurts those around them. Therefore anything that would hinder a person from smoking, I am and will be in favor of. I think that this tax will do two major things. First it will cause some smokers to realize that this habit of there's is way to expensive and they will quit. Another thing it may do is cause younger adults or youth to not smoke because of the ridiculous price on cigarettes. Smoking kills several people, so if people want to kill themselves they're gonna have to pay for it.

Friends
Conflicts arise between friends, but why does this happen? Well I believe this happens because no two people have the exact same personality. There may be that one friend that knows everything about you and you feel the closest to, but it never fails, some kind of disagreement comes up. You don't share the exact same DNA so your minds are made different and come up with different ideas on certain things. So conflict will happen. Whether its over if this country is going down the drain, or who's gonna win the world series.

Game
Last night the Payson Indians played the Pittsfield Saukees in our first game of the season. This game was a real hard nose game. Wellman was on the mound, Oberling catching, Adam Hilgenbrink at third, Alex Wiseman at short, Ash at second, Terwelp in left, Bryant in center, and Abram Wiseman in Right. The game was 0-0 through the fourth inning, but in the fifth Pittsfield plated 1. And that sums up the game, lack of offense really hurt us in this one. This was a good start to the season, because Pittsfield will be one of the best teams we face this year. Come out to Pleasant hill on Monday and watch us.

Games
I love go fish. its a simple, yet fun game. Everyone playing gets 7 cards from regular deck of cards. The object of the game is to match up 2 cards, like 2 aces, 2 kings, 2 queens, and so on. You acquire these by asking other players if they have a certain card, and if they don't, you draw from the remaining cards, or "go fish". It doesn't matter what the suit is, just match them up. This is a great game to play if you have younger children. The concept is easy and the game is fun. Try it.

Prayer in School
The first amendment gives us freedom of religion. And the Establishment clause says that the g can in no way establish a religion or deny any religion. It is my belief that allowing a prayer in school is in no way establishing a religion. And for those who are dead set against it, just do your own little thing while I'm praying. Prayer in school is my expression of my beliefs, and if you don't have a religion that is your expression of your belief.

Recession Proof Jobs
What jobs are recession proof? Well for the most part anything entertainment. How many professional athletes have you heard come out and say that the recession is causing them to lose their job? Just about none. Sure they may lose a million or 2 and complain like they're going to die, but that's nothing compared to the hard working man that truly does lose his job and now has no source of income. Not many jobs are truly recession proof. any company can make cut backs in this time, so everyone better watch out.

Time Capsule
If our school was leaving a time capsule that was to be opened in 100 years, 2109, I would leave an Albert Pujols Rookie card. Not only would it sum up my life and a major part of this generation, but it would also be worth way more to them in 100 years than it would to me now. I love Cardinal baseball so what better way to leave a piece of my life behind. It would be fairly cheap to do so, and grow to be worth way more. I know that if i opened a 100 year old time capsule and found a baseball card I would be ecstatic. Too bad that's not gonna happen.

St. Patricks Day
St. Patricks Day is the national holiday of Ireland, so why is it so celebrated in America? St. Patricks Day is a festival that celebrates the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick. In the U.S. It is not a nationally celebrated, but is very popular. It is so popular in the states because of the huge parties, and beer fests. America takes any celebration and makes it into some huge party where everyone just foes and gets drunk and eats too much. That's not how it was founded though. It was founded as a holy day of obligation in the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland.

Last House of the Left
March 14, 2009 I went and saw The Last House on the Left in theatre. It was an extremely good movie. It was very action packed and and filled with suspense. It was a good movie that got you thinking, if bad people really hurt the ones you love how far will you go to get them back? This is a great movie and I would recommend it to anyone who likes suspense and payback.

Drop Outs
Why do many teens drop out of school? In my opinion the number one reason is they are to lazy to finish. Many of the drop outs either already have failing grades or grades that are below average. This shows that they are already lazy. So in their mind it would be easier to just call it quits and stop going to school. They don't have the drive to finish School because they never had the drive to finish anything, and when the real world hits them they are not going to be ready at all.

Biology is a Pointless Class
Granted some people do need to learn about the molecular structure of an atom, or the alignment of the electrons, but I definitely do not need to learn about this. I have yet to learn about something in Biology that is of any use at all in my life. Biology should be a class that you can elect to take, so that the students that don't need to, or want to take don't have to. That's my opinion on the matter, how do you feel?

First game
Paysons first official spring baseball game will be on march 26, weather permitting. The year has a very optimistic outlook. We have an extremely talented team, with a rock solid defense, and we're pretty deep as far as pitching goes. What our team is not sure about this season is how our offense will do. If we have at least four guys hit over .500, then we will definitely go far into the post season. the four people that i feel can do this are, Shane Wellman, Tyler Bryant, Curtis Stout, and myself. These four individuals have the talent to do so, and would make a great top of the line up. a few other hope fulls include Alex Wiseman, Johnny Manion, Justin Oberling, and Cody Ash. We will just have to wait and see how the season progresses.

Defiance
The movie Defiance is, in my opinion a great movie. In this movie a side of World War II is revealed, that not many people know. This is an action/adventure movie, set at the beginning of the German invasion of Poland. Three Jewish brothers come together and and survive taking on other Jews, and surviving in the woods. This is a great movie, and if you like movies on World War II movies this is a great movie to see.

Dodge Ball
Today at 3:15 the third annual dodge ball tournament will be held by Student Council. I'm excited about this and hopefully my team can win. I love dodge ball so this is going to be a lot of fun. My team consists of Shane Wellman, my brother Alex, Amanda Erhrardt, Lindsey Patrick, and myself. Not an extremely solid team, but Shane, Alex, an myself should hold it down.

Rock
Why do I listen rock? Well no matter what mood I'm in, I can relate to the music. I love rock. When I'm upset, sad, mad, happy I throw in some rock and I feel like the music expresses who I am and how I feel. It doesn't matter what kind of rock usually. It could be punk, screamo, grunge, metal, hard core, classic, 80's any kind works.

The Car
What would we do in today's society without cars. There is no way that some people could keep the jobs that they have. With out this quick means of transportation, it would take hours to walk in what would take minutes for a car. So thank God for the model T.

Invincibility
If I could be a superhero it would be sweet. I've always been a huge fan of superheros, and to be one would be sweet. My name would be Big Sexy, and I would be invincible. To have the power to never be hurt would be awesome. I could help in so many situations, like burning buildings. I would definately use this for good, because thats just the way I am.

Summer
This summer I plan on doing a lot of things, what I actually do is a whole nother story. I have been asked to go over to Ethiopia and help set up an orphanage. That will be fairly expensive so i don't know about that. I am also going to work. I have applied at John Wood and I am going to apply at the Quincy Park District. I need money for college, so whatever I make is going to savings. We will probably take a family vacation as well. Usually we go to Florida, but i am going to try and talk them in to something else.

Crazy Love
The best book that I have ever read is the book I just finished this weekend. This book is by Francis Chan and really takes a hard look at Christianity. Reading this book really opened my eyes and showed me that I'm not really in love with God. I was more of a lukewarm Christian. In this book Francis talks about lukewarm Christan's, and who utterly disgusted God is by that. In Revelations it says God would rather us be cold or hot, because if we are lukewarm he spits us out of his mouth. This book changed my life and I'm no longer a lukewarm christian.

Back to August
To go back and change one thing from this year would be great. I would go back to a little bit before school so i could play football. This year i didn't play because of the injury to my shoulder I received in a wreck i got in. I missed football more than anything this year. Its such a fast pace exciting game. I love to run, to hit, and to throw.

Weekend
My weekend was pretty sweet. The homecoming game on Friday was an amazing game. It was close the entire, and in the last quarter our crowd really came alive and made that gym loud. I was the Indian and it was a blast. I did my best to get people up. After the game we stayed at the school and decorated all night. that wasn't to bad. Around 2 AM we played hide and seek in the school. that was a blast. Saturday night we dressed like pirates and went to TGIF. We got a lot of stares and questions, even some pictures. The dance was OK i guess, too much standing. Over all i had a pretty good weekend.

Homecoming game
Tonight is the night, homecoming against Liberty. It promises to be a thriller. Every year we play Liberty it always comes down to the wire. Las year we played at there homecoming and they just inched by us. Well this year hopes are high for Payson. Liberty is on a hot streak, but I know we have what it takes to take Liberty down. You better be there. Tonight at 6, be there.

Vacation
My family and I went to Florida this summer. It was such a great experience. We had a condo that was right on the beach, it was really nice. We spent all week right on the beach just swimming, throwing the baseball around, playing Frisbee, football in the ocean, walking up the beach and checking out the girls, and my favorite just relaxing. One day we went to a go-cart track, that was pretty fun too. We went out to eat at this place called Fud Puckers, don't get that switched around, and it was really good. They had an alligator pit, and it was set up really cool.

Homecoming
Homecoming week is usually a great week at Payson Seymour High School. We decorate all week long as a class and its just a really great time to bond and come together as a class. The game is always a great time, but i don't think this years will beat last years upset over Southeastern. The dance could be better, but it has gotten better each year since my freahmen year. therefore I am excited about this dance. After the dance we go chill at someones house and watch a movie or play some ridiculous game. I do enjoy homecoming.

Rewind
To back in time and change something in my life would be huge. On October 3, 2007 my brother and I got in a wreck that ruined my junior year in football and basketball. If I could go back in time I would wait 5 more seconds before leaving football practice, then that drunk driver would have never hit us. After the wreck I missed the rest of football due to a shoulder injury, that I still have. Then when basketball came up, I had to miss all of it due to legal issues. It was such a frustrating time in my life. I had always expressed myself through sports, and when this wreck happened, I could no longer do that. I just wish it never happened.

Super Bowl Commercials
I was extremely disappointed this year with the Super Bowl commercials. With each commercial costing $100,000 a second I was really expecting something great this year. The thing I was most upset about was the Miller High Life commerial, or the lack of. a 1 second commercail was supposed to heir sometime durring the game and I never saw it. The 3-D commercial was terrible too. I just expected alot better from the entertainment centers of all these companies.

TV
I love King of Queens. It is by far my favorite sitcom. Its just a show that no matter what, will make me laugh over and over. Doug Heffernin is such a big crazy guy. Honestly I feel bad for Doug having to put up with his father-in-law Arthur, and all the stupid things he says and does. the show, however, would not be complete without Arthur. I really think i laugh the hardest at some of the stuff he says, or should I say yells.

Global Warming
I honestly don't believe anything about global warming. Scientists are saying that the polar ice caps are melting. how is that possible. its -30 F. How can anything melt in that temperature. Here in Illinois we had like three days in a row below freezing. Yeah its really getting warmer on earth. Not.
January 28, 2009
FEAR
What is my biggest fear? Well honestly the biggest fear I have is that my friends will die without accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. They don't realize that without a relationship with him they can't make it to heaven. So I'm afraid of what will happen to them if they die. I don't think many of my friends will make to heaven. So thefefore i need to step up and let them know.

Payson Basketball
This season in Payson basdketball the season is going very good. Yes they have had their ups and downs, but they have have had more ups than downs. Their current record is 12 and 8. With a solid defense behind them, all they really need to word on is their offense.

Dinner Conversation
Tony LaRussa is the person I would want to take out to dinner. I would ask him about the Cardinals upcoming season and how he felt the season would progress. I would talk about the rotation of starters, and who would be the ace and so on. I would check on the progress of Chris Carpenter, see if he is 100% yet. I would ask about the middle infield and who is going to be starting there. Another big question I have would be the position of third base. With Glaus coming off shoulder the cardinals have three very good prospects at the position of third base. I want to know who who he thinks will fill that gap for the time being. I also am interested in the closer position. With start Izzi had last year hopes for him are at a low, so i want to know will it Izzi, Perez, or our very own Josh Kinney. Another thing i really want to know is the batting order. Who is going to protect Pujols in the lineup, and make sure he gets pitched to and not around. The lead-off spot is another concern I have.

Poem of School
We sit here for hours
and my soul feels devoured
oh what a great bore
all day i just snore
every minute inches by
why can't time just fly
only four more months to go
I'm gonna truly miss it though
and my soul feels devoured
oh what a great bore
all day i just snore
every minute inches by
why can't time just fly
only four more months to go
I'm gonna truly miss it though

Five Years Later
Five years from now what will you be doing? I think in five years on this exact day i will be getting kids ready to learn. Working at an orphanage in Jamaica, i will be teaching kids at a school and sharing love with some kids that don't have very much. I can't wait for that day. I have been waiting for it for several years.

Childhood memory
When i was 8 years old my family took a trip to Saint Louis. It was a family trip to the zoo and the cardinals game. I was sick the day we went to the cardinals game and I went and stood by the bullpen and caught a ball. It was a great feeling. I still have, except now it has a few autographs.

Well?
In the summer of 2008 i went to Colorado with my church on a mission trip. I went to a homeless shelter for two of the days and I packed lunches for kids who couldn't afford it. Then after packing about 800 lunches a huge group of guys that lived in the area came in for lunch and we served them lunch. After they had all gone through we went out and ate with them and just talked to them. It gave me such a great feeling, knowing that I was following the guidelines that jesus had left.

Rainy Day
What is the best thing to do on a rainy day. At my house it is the easiest to sleep in on a rainy day. We have a tin roof and the sound of rain on the roof is one of the most relaxing sounds in the world. When i do wake up the only thing i really do is clean. I don't watch much TV so I'll do the dishes, laundry, sweep, just whatever needs cleaned.

What animals?
I would love the ability to fly so of course i would have to be a bird. They can go anywhere they want at any time that they want. Now to specify the bird exactly, i would be an eagle. they can soar and are at the top of the chart when it comes to birds.

Cartoons
Growing up i was a huge Aladin fan. I loved the action that was invloved into the movie. That is probably why i am such a huge action fan. I own all the aladin movies. The origanal, The Return of Jafar, and The Prince of Thieves. Those are some great movies.

Fame
If i could be famous What would i do. I'm not to sure. I think I'd like to say a professional baseball player, but i know that that God has a bigger call on my life. So if i could do anything i would want to be known as a great speaker. Speaking is not one of my greatest things, but i hope soon that it will be.
