Japanese Diet

The diet in Japan used to be full of protein and very low in fat, but due to the major change in the economy, that is changing. Today more and more People in Japan are turning to the cheapier easier form of food. A majority of them turning to America's home town favorite, McDonalds. McDonalds posted huge profit in Japan this quarter and shows no signs of slowing. Many japanese doctors think this is not a good thing. the diet change that manhy of these people are taking is having major effects on the country. I think this could be a bad turn for Japan. Thier gonna end up obese like most Americans.

Sexting

There is now a new software for parents to help prevent and protect their children from being a victim of a sexual predator. The system is linked to the phone and allows certain numbers access to the number without sending out any warning flags. If the kid uses a number not on the list it sends a text to the parent alerting them of it. This is a 10 monthly fee, but well worth it. This helps protect your children, and can give you peace of mind.

Phishing

Phishing is a form of identity theft. This is the new way for robbers to pick money out of your pockets without actually meeting you or bumping into you on the subway. Phishers try and get people to give away personal information through bogus emails. This is the newest trend in pick pocket industry, so watch out. You can never be to careful with personal information.

Twitter Danger

Scientist have reason to believe that social networks such as Twitter or Facebook are to fast for the brain's 'moral Compass' to process. They believe young minds can't handle the info and stories they receive on these social networks. This is ridiculous in my opinion. But I can't really argue this point because I haven't been able to do the research that these scientists have done.

Dumb Criminal

This is about the dumbest criminal I've ever heard about. A 19 year old man robbed another man. What the criminal failed to realize was that he was in the middle of police convention. Needless to say the man didn't get very far before he was stopped and arrested. He is being held on the previously comitted robbery charges. When asked for a comment, all he had to say was, "I'm Smooth".

Twitter

I Twitter the next big thing on the web. This online instant update service has become a huge hit, but where is it going? Google and Facebook are now targeting Twitter ready to make offers because they see Twitter as a profit. I believe Twitter will be bigger than anyone could imagine, because people are always looking for the next big thing. So they'll come and try it out and get sucked in, just like the Facebook junkies. Only time will tell.

Facebook as College Guidance Counselor

Facebooks newest role in the online world is that of college guidance counselor. Colleges across the United States are creating groups fro new and incoming students can come and chat with current students and incoming students. This gives the individual the ability to get a feel for what each college is like. I think this is a great way to get involved with the college you plan on attending and can really influence your decision on waht you will do after high school.

Chewing Gum

Each year the cost to remove chewing gum from public places costs hundreds of millions of dollars. The answer for this has been found. A biodegradable gum has been made and manufactured. This gum is made from the sap of the chicozapote tree found in the Mexican rain forest. Once this gum becomes dry after being chewed, it turns to dust in 6 weeks. This is a much better solution than spending that much to clean up the mess left under park benches and streets.

Protestors and Technology

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/03/31/g20.activists/index.html
Protesters are using technology to their advantage by quickly organizing and setting up mass protests across the world through facebook and other social networks. I feel that this is great. When the people can unite and stand for what they believe, all over the world. Our greatest freedoms are now protected and easier to demonstrate now that we have the ability to organize and show the world what the truth is.

Facebook and Myspace

Why don't they make money? Thats a good question that I have no desire to learn the answer to. I love being on both of them. So whether or not they're making money or not doesn't matter to me.

Cigarette Tax

Cartons of cigarettes are now taxed at a rate of 10.10 a cart and 1.01 a pack. Smokers feel they are being targeted and feel offended. I feel this tax is a great thing. smoking is a nasty disgusting habit, that not only hurts the smoker, but also hurts those around them. Therefore anything that would hinder a person from smoking, I am and will be in favor of. I think that this tax will do two major things. First it will cause some smokers to realize that this habit of there's is way to expensive and they will quit. Another thing it may do is cause younger adults or youth to not smoke because of the ridiculous price on cigarettes. Smoking kills several people, so if people want to kill themselves they're gonna have to pay for it.
